Becoming a Member of the International Order of the Rainbow for Girls

How do I join the International Order of the Rainbow for Girls?

You came to the right place. Even if you're not from the area of Visalia, CA, we can still help you find an assembly near you. We are so happy that you want to join our big family, and are willing to do whatever it takes to make you a part of it.

First, you (the girl) must meet these simple requirements:

Freely offers yourself as a candidate for the degrees in the International Order of the Rainbow for Girls (IORG).
Has a favorable impression of the Order and if elected to membership therein promises strict obedience to the Supreme Assembly, its Constitutions and Statutes, and cheerful compliance to the By-Laws, Rules, and Regulations of the Assembly to whom she makes the petition to.
You are of a good moral behavior.
You are a believer in a Supreme Being.
You are an unmarried girl between the ages of 11 and 20.
You are either the daughter or granddaughter of a Master Mason or a friend of a Rainbow Girl.
You have never petitioned or been rejected for the degrees in any Rainbow Assembly of the IORG.
You are recommended by two Rainbow Girls and be sponsored by either a Master Mason, member of the Order of the Eastern Star, member of the Order of Amaranth, or a Majority Rainbow Girl. This adult must also sign your petition.

Now you must contact a local Assembly of IORG, Masonic Lodge, Order of the Eastern Star, or Order of the Amaranth. If you cannot find one, or don't know where to look call (918) 423-1328 or write to: International Order of the Rainbow for Girls Supreme Assembly, P.O. Box 1868, McAlester, OK 74502, or you can e-mail Supreme Assembly. If you write or e-mail Supreme Assembly include at least one of the following contacts: e-mail address, phone number, or mailing address; include city, state, and country in which you live. What if I'm under 11?

Don't worry-you can still participate, either through a Pledge Group or through fun events. At the moment, Visalia does not have a Pledge group, but it only takes 2 girls to start one! The age range for Pledges is 8-11 year olds in California, although some jurisdictions allow younger girls to join Pledge groups. If you do not live in California, please check with your local jurisdiction for specifics about their Pledge program. Visit the Supreme Website to find your jurisdiction's website and contact person.
